Cheers To A New Year

I won't have any pictures for this post- sorry guys. I just wanted to write a short post to make goals for the next year a bit clearer. For both my business and personal. So let's proceed shall we?
This past few months I've learned so much about business, people, myself and learning how to juggle everything and it's been amazing! But there are a few things I've noticed that as a business woman and owner I feel needs to be improved upon. Sigh... Here goes!

I have three very simple goals for this year for my business:

                        1) To become more knowledgeable about photography.
                        2) Become more efficient in marketing to expand revenue.
                        3) Learn how to become more concrete in my standing and beliefs in the business.

As for my personal goals... Well I'm a bit nervous about them. Just because I know I'm going to be focusing on my business and they don't exactly let me obsess over my business like I know I'm going to have a tendency to do! But these are things that in my life can not wait. I need to learn them now and do them now before my life has passed me by and I've lost the opportunity for so many things!

I have five goals for this next year:

                       1) To become healthy.
                       2) Become a more positive person.
                       3) Spend more time caring about others.
                       4) To travel at least twice this year. (Halfway done with that one come Tuesday!)
                       5) Learn that sometimes people aren't going to listen and it's okay. They need to live their mistakes- even if I could help them avoid them. It's a growing thing.

So these are my goals! Feel free to post yours as a comment I'd love to see what everyone else has goals for! I lvoe you all and I hope this year is filled with so much goodness to each and everyone of you!

Old Home Place

Going to take a break from updating you on my sessions and clients (though it seems I'm never going to be done doing that sometimes)! We just got back from our trip back to the home place in Louisiana. And let me tell you it was amazing! So much warmer than Amarillo for one! Wonderful foods. I think we had gumbo two or three times. And you better believe we brought some of that good gumbo and yummy boudin (pronounced boo-dan). And more importantly I got to spend time with my family. I even got to see my aunt, uncle and cousin! It was a fantastic trip. And while I won't be sharing the family moments with you all I did go hiking a bit (the home place is 365 acres spread around down there with roughly 60 of it where the home is at). I have some wonderful scenery I want to share. '

Let's get this train a moving shall we?

One of the old barns.

Lincoln was my hiking companion

I love the vibrant colors!

I love trees! It's one of the things I really miss about Louisiana.

Leaves of three oh let it be!

I obsess over a bunch of things but I love, love, LOVE mushrooms!

And owls. Owls are amazing!

These leaves seemed so delicate but my little lens wasn't strong enough so I got my Big Mac Daddy!

Beautiful pine cones!

Berries!

Second version.

Again the colors are AMAZING!!!

The old house that my Gmomma and her five siblings grew up in! Still standing after countless hurricanes and bad weather!

I hope you've enjoyed the photos! Remember I do sell prints of all stills. Have a wonderful Wednesday dears!

Sisterly Love

Sometimes you just need to cut loose and have fun. And one of my favorite people to hang out with is my sister Daeh. Thankfully she goes with my- at times- cooky ideas and lets me be me. So I wanted to do a post of some of the shots from her shoot. Some of the pictures are of the nature and things around us. And remember all photos ARE copyrighted and not to be copied, altered or taken from this page.

I love details and since this is such a fabulous belt it had to have it's own picture!

It's hard to find water in the panhandle of Texas. So when we do find it the first thing any sane person does is play in it! And it was a bit cold!!!

Like I said this was just a fun shoot. And I do love this one!

We had a front come in that night which allowed for a few unique sky shots.

Okay so secret: I am obsessed with Stevie Nicks. And for some reason this one reminds me of a type of picture she would take.

One of the most beautiful things about Daeh is her smile! And she is always up for a good laugh!!!

These little guys were EVERYWHERE!

A variation.

Everyone has their opinion of sun flares but I love them. And this picture is one of my personal favorites of Daeh.

Up Until Now

So I just wanted to show you what I've done up till October of 2011. These are some of my favorites but I keep getting new favorites with every session! I hope you enjoy! And remember all photos ARE copyrighted and not to be copied, altered or taken from this page.

This is one of my sweet 'kids' Lincoln. And yes he is just as goofy as he looks!

When I took the boy I take care of to the local Botanical Gardens I was captivated by this daisy and ladybug.

A friend of mine named this Silent Beauty.

Taken in New Mexico. Beautiful land and I hope one day to do this trip again!

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Don't be afraid to leave a comment or two as long as they're sweet or constructive! (I mean they can be mean but remember Karma does come back around and she's much more vicious my dears!)

I will have another post set up in a few days.

***REMEMBER*** All of these photos are COPYRIGHTED. They are not to be copied/altered or in anyway taken from this blog. If you would like to have a print made of any animal/nature photo please contact me and I will gladly talk to you. Thank you for respecting this.
